Student of the month

It's kinda quiet but here is our Student of the month for November.

Well we have a snow day! The kids were so excited to see snow when they got up. I heard their excited voices looking out the door at all the piles of snow. I asked them if they wanted to go out and play in it and they cheered "Yeah!". So I started digging out the snow clothes, bundling up, pushing and pulling and covering from head to toe. Then I sent Jackson outside while I worked on Abigail. Ok finally we are ready, I walk Abigail to the back door and just as we get there I'm greeted by Jackson who is ready to come in because....yes you guessed it...its cold. So I start the unbundling process with him while Abigail goes out to play with Jessie. And yes by the time I got him stripped down she was ready to come in. Now I'm ready for a nap.

Wrestling

Jackson started a wrestling club this week. He's a little young and we aren't sure how long he'll make it but he sure tries hard! He still wants to wrestle his way when it's all said and done.

A Conversation with Jackson.

While Jackson was folding the washcloths for me this was our conversation:

J: Mom, I like to climb trees.
M: Yes thats fun I suppose (thinking to myself he's never really done it)
J: But I don't like to climb Volcanoes.
M: well no I wouldn't either.
J: Because they can FIRE you and then you will get bleed on you and it will hurt really bad.
M: yes I suppose so.
J: Do skunks live on volcanoes?
M: uh, well no I don't think they do.
J: Good because skunks are mean and the will bite you and you will get bleed on you and they will eat you up.
M: hmm, I wasn't aware skunks were so mean.

J: Mom I love working with you.
M: I love working with you too buddy.
J: Now give me a kiss.

Abigail for President 2048

My daughter informed me on the way to the movies the other day that she was going to run for president. She was a little discouraged when I told her she would have to wait about 40 years but still convinced she could get people to vote for her. I asked her what she would do as president and after thinking for a minute she decided on the following:

1. Take care of the world.

2. Keep the earth clean.

3. Make more restaurants on the highways so people can stop and eat when they are hungry.

4. Build more roads for shortcuts.

So there you have it. Abigail for President 2048.

Halloween was fun! We had a Power Ranger and of course Hannah Montana. Every picture I took Jackson mad this face. He was very tough and loved the face paint. Abigail sang and pranced all day but quickly tired of the wig and decided to just be Miley. For those of you that don't know Hannah Montana or her story I will just say you are lucky! First I liked her but now I'm so sick of her I could scream!

First day of school

Yesterday was the first day of school. It was a lot of fun and I didn't even cry when I took my baby to first grade. She loved it and was so excited when they had 3 recesses!

Jackson had a meet and greet w/ his preschool teacher then he got to play so he's thinking school is pretty good.

the ride home

Of course this is what he looked like on the ride home. Notice the hand in the bag of cheetos.

summer fun!

Last night we went out to the ranch where Cary works to go swimming. Jackson wouldn't hardly get in the pool at first he just sat on the side. He slowly worked his way in swimming around with us and before we knew it he took off and we couldn't get him to stop! (lifejacket on of course).

This is when Jackson figured out that the water comes towards you and you need to run!!!!!!!!

And hopefully I'll figure out how to post more than one picture at a time.

Abigail is really enjoys taking pictures and posing. She was constantly telling me when to take a picture and where she wanted to be in the picture.

On the warpath!!! Jackson was in charge of keep all the varmints out of our campground.

The four of us took a camping trip to Newport this weekend. The kids didn't quite understand why we were going alone (we usually camp with a group of friends) but they quickly adapted and we had fun anyways much to their surprise! Jackson did befriend the boys in the camp next to ours but I think they got tired of him yelling "hey kid" whenever he wanted to play. I will add a few more pictures that we took. It was a beautiful weekend. Very windy but beautiful. We stopped at a great farmers market in Newport and then went to the OSU Hatfield Science Center where the kids literally ran from one tank to the next to look at all the marine life. Jackson loved the "applepuss" and Abigail loved the starfish!

Been awhile!

Well it's been awhile since I posted on here. Summer hit and life just went crazy! We literally haven't had a single weekend where we were not traveling somewhere. It's been insane! But it has been fun. Abigail celebrated her 6th birthday and is more than ready for first grade. I get lots of questions on "what first graders do" and "what first graders eat for lunch". I can't believe my baby will be in first grade. I also can't believe that Jackson will start 3 year pre-school! He will only go 2 days a week. I also can't believe that I will have 2 1/2 hours 2 days a week of blissful uninterrupted silence all to myself!!!!!!!!!
Grandma Rosie took them to the Aquarium in Newport yesterday and when I got home from work Jackson said "We saw an applepuss!" He was very excited.

Abigail's last day of school

Today was Abigail's last day of Kindergarten. She is very excited for summer. She had a field day where they played all sorts of games and got to have lunch at school. David went with her and boy did he have fun!

My baby is officially a first grader!

Pirates always wear underwear and sweats wrapped around their neck, didn't you know that?

Sometimes I tell mom I'm not sleepy and I don't need a nap. But when I'm watching a movie I just like to rest my eyes for a minute.

You might need to do some work while your napping so safety goggles are always a good idea.

Sometimes you can't just take a nap. Sometimes you need accessories.

Happy Birthday Jackson!

Dear Jackson,

Three years ago today you came into our life. You expanded our family by one but our hearts by 100. Your first day on this earth you were wide-eyed and taking everything in and that hasn't changed. I love your curiosity about the world and your excitement over the simple things in life. I love that you make me stop to look at an ant crawling across the road. I even love that you walk at your own slow pace even though it drives me crazy sometimes it also reminds me that we all need to slow down sometimes. I love watching you try to learn new things even when your patience wears thin and you get mad at whatever you are trying to do. I know it's because you want to do it the best that you can. You are all boy and as rough and tumble as you can be. Sometimes it scares me when you fall over or get hit but those are the times you seem to laugh the hardest. Most of all I love the way you love. You always make sure that you give everyone good night hugs and kisses and you love to stop and snuggle. Out of the blue you will say "I love you Mommy, you are the best ever." Your smile brightens my day and your giggle melts my heart.

I want so much for you my son. But most of all I just want you to keep smiling and keep giggling.

I love you,
Mom

Here are some pics from Easter. I think they are pretty self-explanatory! We took the kids to an Easter Egg hunt then decorated eggs. Jackson had a little problem with his pants that day, they didn't want to stay up! He also thought that he needed to crack all of his eggs after they were colored. They were a little messed up.

it continues..

Well the potty training continues. We are progressing but not there yet. We had an accident today. I was in the living room and he was in the kitchen (thankfully on the linoleum!) and I hear "Mom, my potty is spilling!". He has many different explanations for what his "potty" is doing at the time. I hate potty training. Have I said that already? I really dislike it quite a lot.

Life has been very busy lately and I haven't had much time to post on here. Abigail started swimming lessons again last night. It's at a different pool than last time but the class is only her and her friend Brandon so I think it will be a good learning environment. The other pool we went to was always full. She is enjoying it. They both had a fun spring break and got to spend the night with Auntie Leah and Grandma Rosie. Jackson broke Auntie Leah in good by throwing up in her bed and all over her floor. I found that mildly amusing even though she didn't. ;) I only found it amusing because I for once didn't have to clean it up! It's the simple things in life ya know?

Ramblings....

We are working on potty training and Jackson wanted to go potty so I took him. He sat and waited for a few minutes then said "Mom I'll go later my potty is sleeping".

We went to Roseburg this weekend to visit everyone and when we got back he asked me "Mom can we go to Grandma Jay's again next year?" I think that meant he wants to go sooner than next year though. He has trouble with the Grandma and Pappa names so frequently refers to them as Pappa Jay and Grandma Jay. On the other side its Grandma Rosie and Pappa Rosie. Go figure.

Abigail asked me the other day "mom do you think Jackson will be a jock?" I have no idea where she heard the word jock.

sick and more sick

This won't be much of a post just wanted to say that we have been fighting a never ending battle of sickness since getting back from Disney. Jackson had it when we left, Abigail had it when we got home, I got an ear infection after that and now Jackson has it again. It's such a horrible cycle I feel like spraying the entire house with lysol! So hopefully we will be on the mend soon!

Jackson loved meeting Mickey!

A Dream Come True! Abigails favorite moment.
Posted by Picasa

Well we made it. It's taken me almost a month to recuperate and fight off a nasty ear infection but we went to Disneyland and had a WONDERFUL time. It was truly such a fun trip. It's so amazing to see something like Disneyland through the eyes of your kids. It's just a whole new perspective. It's like seeing it for the first time again yourself. The kids still talk about it daily and if we see commercials Jackson says "We went there, member dat?". It was a tiring trip for him but Abigail had a smile plastered to her face every second of every day. She went on every ride that she could get on and loved them all. The scarier the better. She does NOT get that from her mother. I'll post a few more pics today.

random quotes from Abigail

We were driving in the car last night on the way to the store and everybody was laughing and being silly. Abigail suddenly stops and says "Let's get serious people, What do you think of my hair?". She channels her Auntie quite often.

Again we were in the car and Jackson had some juice. He dropped it on the floor and I said "Jackson you need to hold on to your juice". 2 seconds later it was dropped again, "jackson, if you drop the juice again Mom will take it away". 2 seconds later it was dropped again, "that's it, Mom is taking it." As he got a little upset with me Abigail says "Sorry Jackson, No pain, no gain".
